HTC Velocity 4G To Be Released In Germany By Vodafone

Posted on 9 Feb 2012 in HTC

Germany will be the first country to have a 4G LTE enabled device on the European market. It seems that HTC will launch with the German carrier Vodafone the Velocity 4G in the next few weeks. This will be the new gen of mobile data. The device brought by HTC will come in a white version but we don’t know anything about the asking price.

The European market follows Australia. Telstra launched recently the Velocity 4G, also the first 4G enabled smartphone in the country. In theory, the LTE chip will allow speeds of up to 100 MB for downloads but the upload speed was limited to 50 MB. The HTC Velocity 4G features 1 4.5 inch display with 960×540 resolution, a 1.5 GHz processor dual core and a 1620 mAh battery. For a huge display like that the battery of the device could have been even better (but there aren’t so many out there). The German carrier, Vodafone, already set 2000 base stations which cover 8.5 million households. Of course, the device will not be sold all around Germany, because the 4G network is not yet available country-wide. In the future, the 4G will cover all markets because, as manufacturers and carriers say, this is the future of mobile data.
