Janet Wise, Research Director of ABI, states, “When younger GPS users are compared to their older counterparts, there’s clearly an age divide not only in what types of devices they use, but in how they use them.”

Some age gap in the use of mobile gadgets are the following:
· Older people often use portable navigation devices while the younger ones use mobile phones or PDAs with navigation service
· Older people remarkably use one- or two-way connected PNDs.
· Younger ones have higher demands for application downloads

Another ABI Research director named Dominique Bonte stressed that while younger age groups are willing to adopt new connected navigation form factors and services, older groups clearly prefer no-frills, affordable, easy to use, ‘working out of the box’ non-connected PNDs.

According to the reports, Nokia has publicized its intention to launch an MVNO(INFO) service for mobile phones in Japan probably on the third quarter of 2009. Also mentioned in the Japanese news is NTT DoCoMo’s planned partnership with Nokia.

To start with, Nokia will release high-end gadgets in Japan under its network. This move will be done by Nokia in anticipation of establishing a strong brand name for the company. As of the moment, Nokia already controls approximately 1% of the cell phone market in Japan.

AOL publicized the AOL Sync for smartphones that uses Windows Mobile.

For those AOL account holder, the AOL Sync program, which is powered by Funambol, permits its users to keep track of their contacts, calendar, reminders, as well as their AOL account itself through their Windows Mobile-powered phones. This is a short story of how a cellphone saved a person’s life.

A Louisiana resident named R.J. Richard was accidentally hit by a stray bullet in the chest. Amazingly, Richard survived the incident through his cellphone.

According to the report, while Richard was manicuring his garden, he decided to put his cell phone into his overall’s front pocket. Just then, a stray bullet striked him directly at his chest. Luckily, his cellphone has totally blocked the bullet’s force causing only a minor bruise on Richard’s chest.

The USB760 simply needs a USB port and, voila!–instant access to Verizon’s EV-DO network as well as applications and features can be experienced. Although sleek as it is, the Verizon USB760 is a house to a microSD memory card slot that provides maximum data storage.

Verizon’s newest baby is now on sale at Verizon Business accounts and will soon be available on Verizon retail stores on December 1st, priced at $99.99 after a 2-year commitment and mail-in rebate.
