LG has just launched the new LG GS290 Cookie Fresh, the latest feature phone to join LG’s Cookie portfolio of devices. The Cookie Fresh offers a 2 megapixel camera, a 3-inch WQVGA display, an FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device also runs LG’s “cartoon user interface” that makes it effortless to access the user’s preferred programs and social networks from the home screen. The Cookie Fresh will be available in fresh, blue, pink, purple, light green, and silver. It will be sold together with the LG Cookie Plus in Europe starting this March.

The new LG USBConnect Velocity has been launched. As announced by AT&T, the device is AT&T’s first GPS-enabled 3G modem, and it allows you to take advantage of location based services. The Velocity comes with Option’s GPS Control Panel for taking advantage of Yahoo! Maps and Bing, and the download is available from Options’ website. Enterprise customers can also take advantage of Telenav Track LITE and Xora GPS Location from AT&T. The USBConnect Velocity from Option will be available on March 7 for $29.99 after a mail-in-rebate and with a 2-year contract. It requires a minimum monthly data plan of $35.

AT&T has just launched a USB 3G modem labeled as LG USBConnect Turbo. The device is the first 3G modem from LG on AT&T and it features support for the carrier’s 7.2Mbps high speed packet access (HSPA) network. The USBConnect Turbo will be available on March 7 online and in AT&T stores for free with a 2-year contract and after a mail-in-rebate. The device requires at least a $35 monthly data plan.

Microsoft’s mobile communications director, Aaron Woodman, exhibited the first Windows Phone 7 series device, a model developed by LG. The phone was a little thicker than an iPhone. The device features a full QWERTY keyboard, as well as a 5 megapixel camera with flash, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a standard hardware buttons. An external volume as well as camera keys was also spotted on the device.

LG plans to distribute the LG LU2300 Android phone with greater-than-before services built-in. The phone will present information regarding objects shot with its camera. Bigger feature is always parallel with the Android platform. Google’s Goggles application, available for free in the Android Market, allows users to take images of objects, logos, and bar codes for more information and price comparisons. In the same way, the Google Sky application lets Android smartphone owners point their phone at the sky for more information on constellations.
