Verizon announced today that VZ Navigator Version 4 is now available on select phones and can provide live traffic information in about 75 major cities across the U.S.The newest version of VZ Navigator allows customers in 75 cities from coast to coast to access information about traffic incidents on major roadways, obtain traffic updates and find detours around traffic congestion and accidents

The launch of the Blackberry Pearl 8110 smartphone with GPS from AT&T was announced today by AT&T and Research in Motion.Like the 8130 for CDMA networks, the 8110 provides live position updates in real time; in AT&T’s version, the new Pearl is targeted at the TeleNav-based AT&T Navigator service and uses the feature to supply driving directions without permanent map downloads.

The upgraded handset is also the first from AT&T to run a custom Yellow Pages app for finding and using contact information. Its hardware otherwise shares much in common with the 8120 already in use at the provider. While Wi-Fi is absent, the 8110 has the same 2-megapixel camera, full-size headphone jack, and easily used microSDHC card slot for its storage.The Blackberry Pearl 8110 is now available at AT&T retail stores nationwide for a price as low as $149.99, with a two-year contract, unlimited data plan and $39.99 voice plan.

Samsung unveiled a new Windows Mobile smartphone, the Samsung SGH-i900 During a Dutch telecom event called “Televisie 2008″ .Samsung confirmed that SGH-i900 runing with Windows Mobile 6.1.
While most specs are unknown or at least unconfirmed yet, it’s known that the i900 will feature at least triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as singleband UMTS/HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and WiFi b/g. While not yet confirmed, sources said the i900 also sports GPS and an FM radio.The 3.5″ screen is expected to have a Windows Mobile unusual resolution of 240×400 pixel and the autofocus camera is expected to support 5 megapixel. Last but not least, Samsung’s newest smartphone should include at least 8 GB of memory.

A price or release date isn’t known yet but if Samsung is already ready to show it on events, a release in summer is most likely. But neither the specs above nor the estimated release date are confirmed yet.
