Apple Regains The “Biggest Smartphone Maker” Title In 4th Qaurter
Apple made public its sales and income reports for the 4th quarter. They have some impressive numbers compared to the 3rd and 2nd quarter of last year and they owe it to the launch of the iPhone 4S. That was the first time in their launching strategies when the release of a new phone wasn’t made after a year and that resulted in better sales and income figures. The sales number for the iPhone 4S reached record sales from the first weekend after release. The stats show that the company sold around 37 million devices in the 4th quarter, that’s with 117% higher than in the 3rd quarter and with 128% more than the previous year.

If we were to make some calculus these numbers mean that Apple is once again the biggest phone maker worldwide. They had that title in the second quarter of 2011 but they lost it to Nokia and Samsung in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter, Samsung sold around 35 million devices. So, according to these numbers they are definitely number one again because there is no other manufacturer that could have such numbers is terms of sales at this point.
