The Symbian Foundation proclaimed that the Symbian operating system is finally an open source and is available for free. Symbian’s source packaging can be downloaded from http://tiny.symbian.org/open. It includes 108 packages of source code in total, and development kits for creating applications and mobile device platforms are also available; both are attuned with Symbian^2, the newest version of the platform that will be completed this quarter.
