
Skype announced that it now supports HD video calling from PCs and HDTVs. The company mentioned that the new Skype 4.2 Beta for Windows, supports 720p video calling in a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second. You’ll need an HD-capable webcam to take advantage of the 720p video calls. Two companies, faceVsion and In Store Solutions, are introducing HD webcams this week, and Skype will label compatible ones with its Skype Certified HD logo. For finest presentation, Skype recommends that you have at least a 1Mbps connection before placing an HD call.
