Verizon unveils the new Samsung Convoy, a rugged clamshell handset with high-speed 3G data and push-to-talk functionality.

Samsung Convoy has passed the military standards. It can therefore withstand shock, dust, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, and both high and low temperature extremes. The device also boasts of a stereo speaker system and a large 1300mAh battery. Other features include a 2.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless headset and stereo headphone support, and the ability to run Verizon’s VZ Navigator GPS navigation system.

The Samsung Convoy is set to be available for purchase on November 15 for $49.99 with a 2 year agreement, after a $50 mail-in rebate that comes in the form of a debit card.
