The Federal Trade Commission was reported to have terminated an antitrust review of Sprint Nextel’s acquisition of Virgin Mobile that is needed to complete the acquisition process of the former. Regulatory approval by the Federal Communications Commission is still required although analysts doubt that the organization will be a hindrance to the purchase.
Financially, Virgin Mobile stood well in the second quarter.
