Motorola, together with the Northern Michigan University, has publicized the WiMAX (INFO) network. To date, the device was made known all throughout the university’s whole campus that is a second home to over 3,000 students as of this writing. The students also received new WiMAX-capable laptop computers while adapters will be made available to students that lack a WiMAX capable computer.
The network boasts of 4 WiMAX sites. There are also plans to add another 3 sites that the university will have licensed for use by the local school and municipal offices.
