
Although strong ‘word-of-mouths’ are circulating in the mobile phone industry, Nokia denied that its company is processing a smartphone that will be powered by an Android operating system in exchange for the Symbian. Furthermore, a Nokia insider confirmed that Symbian is still the company’s preferred platform for advanced mobile devices.
To date, Nokia is still not involved in the Open Handset Alliance - an association of mobile phone carriers that commercially favors the Android platform. Thus, Nokia becomes a rival to LG, Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
