The Universal Display Corporation joined hands with the Arizona State University in creating a milestone by unveiling a flexible AMOLED (INFO) display that uses phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode (PHOLED) technology. This is consequently printed on plastic to create a bendable, bright, and extremely low power display medium.
While the traditional fluorescent OLED(INFO) displays only converts 25% of electrical power into light, the PHOLED technology switches 100%, using only a quarter of the power required by current OLED screens.
