According to the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal, an HTC handset that will run on Android operating system will be launched by China Mobile. Reports have it that the talked-about handset will be available from Vodafone at US$730. HTC’s presentment as mobile phone carrier might come as a shocker, but it is actually Lenovo that has been the first manufacturer of a China Mobile/Android device.

Meanwhile, China Mobile and ST-Ericsson have just announced recently that they have entered into a contract for the supply of chipsets that aims to help drive the TD-SCDMA technology to the mass market China.
