Both Huawei and ZTE are enjoying their own fair share of a good sales growth in the mobile network equipment market during the first quarter of 2009. This was confirmed by the research firm, Dell’Oro Group. According to the research study, the two companies increase their sales by over 20% compared to the same quarter last year. On the other hand, Sony Ericsson continued its dominance by 33% of the market in January-March, while Nokia experienced a decrease to 21%.
Dell’Oro also mentioned that total worldwide mobile infrastructure market revenue contracted 9% year-over-year in the quarter despite a record number of 3G base station shipments.
