The SlingPlayer Mobile has finally found its way to Apple’s App Store. The software lets users relay television shows from their Slingbox set-top boxes to the iPhone. However, AT&T is strictly implementing a no-Slingbox policy so it will only work over Wi-Fi networks.
AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel said that redirecting a TV signal would consume very large amounts of bandwidth and could potentially impede other customers from accessing the network. He also explained that iPhone users have free access to AT&T’s 20,000 U.S. hotspots and 80,000 outside the country.
SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone will cost $30.
