Rumor has it that Dell is seriously taking into consideration its plan of launching a smartphone in the East, particularly in China this year. A word-of-mouth came through Red Office, a software fabricator that is based in China, that its company is designing the phones’ operating system for Dell.

Going down the memory lane, Shaw Wu of Kaufman Bros. said last March that the U.S. network carriers had rejected Dell due to unimpressive smartphone designs and features. According to them, Dell smartphones are not different enough from other smartphones on the market.

Nonetheless, Dell did neither disclosed nor confirmed allegation.
