Orange pumped up the play in UK’s mobile phone market when it began offering RIM’s BlackBerry Pearl 8120. What’s more? Orange promotes the Blackberry Pearl as the country’s first ever BlackBerry that comes with a prepaid service.

According to Orange’s report, around 75% of mobile phone users in the United Kingdom prefer pre-paid services. This is especially evident among those within the range of 16 to 24 years old. And to cater to the needs of this genre, a PAYG pre-paid plan that is tagged at 145 GBP (US$205) will be available in probably by the first week of February. However, a 5 GBP (US$7.16) monthly fee will be charged for the BlackBerry Internet Service.
