I remember posting an article last year about the layoffs being experienced by Motorola employees. Sad to say, another thousands of them will experience the same this year. According to reports, Motorola is scheduled to execute additional 4,000 layoffs for 2009 preceding the 3,000 layoffs in 2008.

Motorola said that this step would help the company cut costs and save almost $700M each year beginning 2009. However, Global Crown Capital’s analyst said, “It’s not supposed to happen that way. We think that things get worse for Motorola before they start getting better.”
