Just recently, AT&T’s director, Roger Smith, has publicized the company’s intention of utilizing Symbian for their mobile phones in the coming years.

As of the moment, the company’s handsets are all powered by Java where victory was not met. Well, at least that is according to AT&T itself. And, with Symbian being the most widely used cell phone operating system nowadays, AT&T is hoping to run a good race in 2009.

For the record, AT&T has disclosed its membership in the Symbian Foundation.
