Giant cell phone manufacturers that include Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and LG has agreed on revising the current rate of their cell phone chargers. With this move, they are hoping to save more energy by providing more efficient and effective chargers in a more reasonable price.
To date, over three billion people owns a cell phone, and, as what Nokia is trying to state, ‘if the more than three billion people owning mobile devices today switched to a four- or five-star charger, this could save the same amount of energy each year as produced by two medium sized power plants.’
