AT&T is targeting to purchase Centennial Communications Corporation for approximately US$944 million. According to AT&T, this move will provide additional 1 million subscribers to the company.
As of today, AT&T still awaits for the approval of the regulatory board regarding the merger, and AT&T is crossing its fingers to have the result materialize by the second quarter of 2009.

Unfortunately, the said merger of AT&T and Central Communications is not enough reason for AT&T to win back its previously 1st ranking in the US against Verizon-Alltel merger.
