Microsoft and LG has made a great mobile deal by signing an agreement on strategic cooperation in mobile technology. According to LG, the agreement ensures continued collaboration in R&D, marketing, applications, and services in the field of converged mobile devices. Both companies will continue to define and align their mobile strategies through annual top management meeting.

Specially now where mobile phone manufacturers are opting to base their smartphones on Google’s Android, Microsoft is setting a foot forward into competing with several opponents such as Nokia’s Symbian, RIM’s Blackberry, and Apple’s iPhone.

Both LG and Samsung are members of the Symbian Foundation and are also developing models based on Android.
