Motorola is currently making use of 7 various system for different mobile phone versions but today, Sanjay Jha, Motorola’s mobile division chief, announced that the company is planning to restructure the system to 3 since the company is trying to regenerate a higher profit for the company. Motorola smartphones will still utilize Windows Mobile. Meanwhile, its average models will develop a P2K system. Other models will be powered by the Android OS courtesy of Google. There is no mention of Symbian, despite Motorola being one of the early members of the new Symbian Foundation.

This system-cutting step is anticipated to cause layoffs in thousands.
