
Access, the PalmSource buyer, has just publicized its Palm OS successor — the Access Linux Platform 3.0. As implied by its name, Access Linux Platform 3.0 is Linux-based yet it supports not only Linux applications. It is also supportive of Garnet OS applications, even Java. ALP 3.0 has strictly complied with the LiMo Foundation’s specifications for mobile Linux.
Furthermore, Access has also announced its latest ALP Mini OS for feature mobile phones. ALP Mini is another edition of ALP 3.0 that is specially fabricated for less powerful devices. The availability date of ALP 3.0 has not yet announced, nevertheless, ALP Mini is available to manufacturers now.
