Both Samsung and Alltel unveiled a full touchscreen cell phone from Samsung labeled as Samsung SCH-r800 Delve. The gadget is loaded with a 2 megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headset port, a Bluetooth 2.0, and a microSD slot. It boasts of the Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface on its 3″ 240×400 pixel resolution that enables users to personalize their own phones in a very user-friendly manner.
The Samsung SCH-r800 Delve is priced at $199.99 after a 2-year commitment and $100 mail-in rebate and is now available for pre-order. The phone is scheduled to be available in stores and online on the first week of November.

The Nokia N85 has undergone and passed the FCC testing. The proudly FCC-approved Nokia model prides itself with a tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support for AT&T’s 3G network as well as European 3G networks backed up by a Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support.
N85 features include a 2.6″ display, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash, an FM transmitter, a microSD card slot, and a standard 3.5mm audio port. It is reported to be available very soon, with pricing previously announced at EUR450 (US$665) before taxes and subsidies.

A thinner Pantech Slate is now available from AT&T as of this moment. Pantech Slate is considered as the slimmest QWERTY-keyboard-loaded mobile phone available in the market but although it is slimmer, the gadget boasts of a 1.3 megapixel and a Bluetooth. It also offers support for e-mail browsing and instant messaging.
The Pantech Slate comes in black and royal blue color scheme and is priced at $49.99 after a 2-year commitment and mail-in rebate.

Motorola is currently making use of 7 various system for different mobile phone versions but today, Sanjay Jha, Motorola’s mobile division chief, announced that the company is planning to restructure the system to 3 since the company is trying to regenerate a higher profit for the company. Motorola smartphones will still utilize Windows Mobile. Meanwhile, its average models will develop a P2K system. Other models will be powered by the Android OS courtesy of Google. There is no mention of Symbian, despite Motorola being one of the early members of the new Symbian Foundation.

Verizon has finally settled the case filed against it by Klausner Technologies for a patent of visual voice technology. Klausner Technologies had Verizon penalized for the lawsuit. The bottomline: Verizon agreed to apply for a license of Klausner’s patents thus settling their undischarged legal proceeding.
Other companies to license Klausner’s patents includes Vonage, eBay, AT&T, and Sprint. Verizon Wireless is in fact its fifteenth. Meanwhile, other companies with pending legal proceeding with Klausner are Google, LG Electronics, Comverse, Citrix, Cox Communications and Embarq.
Klausner said it granted Verizon Wireless a patent license related to voice message alerts.
