Qualcomm looses the battle with Broadcom over patents when the U.S. Appeals Court decided that the former violated Broadcom’s patents. The said patents include video compression, EV-DO, and QChat Push-To-Talk technology. Though the first patent was overruled, the other two patents were sustained proving Qualcomm guilty as charged. The verdict has confirmed the restriction that linked to the two legal patents, thus requiring Qualcomm to shell out licensing damages. Moreover, the court discarded the company’s call for a petition.
Both Qualcomm and Broadcom have been concerned in patent-associated conflict for a number of years now.
