Last Wednesday, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a law that will make texting while driving illegal . The decree sets out into effect on January 1, 2009 preventing drivers from sending, writing, or even reading text messages while managing the stirring wheel.

The law comes with a penalty worth $20 for first-time lawbreakers and $50 for succeeding violations. Through this regulation, a hope that a decrease in accidents as well as a safer driving experience is expected. To recapitulate, a preceding law also made it unlawful to even grasp a handset while driving, thus, obliging drivers to make use of handsfree headsets.
