Qualcomm is held in contempt by the court due to some cellphone rule violation. Despite the court ordering Qualcomm to stop rendering services for some of its EV-DO handsets, the company proceeded to doing so. EV-DO handsets uses WCDMA chips, a patented product by Broadcom. It is being used in some Qualcomm handset feature such as the QChat push-to-talk thus, earning over $393 million from that sole feature alone.
As a result, the court compelled Qualcomm to turn over to Broadcom all of the profit that they have earned from Qchat push-to-talk.
It seems that Qualcomm might be in a hot seat.
