Wireless network operator Alltel announced plans to bump up their existing Rev. A network very soon, just as the market for their high speed network expands to a total of 18, covering both rural and urban areas.

With AT&T’s success in the expansion of their network across all their markets, Alltel’s upgrades couldn’t have come at a better time. Enhanced Rev. A networks are poised to offer average upload speeds of 500-800Kbps and an average download speed varying between 600kbps to 1.4Mbps range, even maxxing up to 3.1Mbps.

Taking advantage of these extreme speeds require better devices like souped up laptop cards and mobile phone devices. UT Starcom UM 150 laptop cards and HTC smartphones should provide a good base to benefit from the increased speeds.
