Samsung today announced the availability of the Samsung MyShot SCH-r430 and Samsung Spex SCH-r210.

These two phones are the first MetroPCS phones that can operate on the 1.7/2.1GHz CDMA Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum. The AWS spectrum band allows current and future service providers the opportunity to provide wireless broadband services to millions of users, resulting in increased productivity, efficiency, mobility and security through larger bandwidth allocation.

The MyShot features a sleek, black and silver finish. It features functions such as a 1.3 megapixel camera, access to games, ringtones and wallpapers through downloadable content, as well as Bluetooth technology, advanced voice recognition and speakerphone for easy, hands-free communication.

LG Electronics today launches its new 3G phone ‘LG-LH5000’ aka Ice Cream Phone in Korea market, which features ice cream inspired colors with LED lighting.

With 13.6mm-thick clamshell design, the handsets are named like ice cream varieties; vanilla(pure white), strawberry(sweet pink) and pistachio(sweet blue).Other features included a 2.2-inch color screen with QVGA resolution, email receiving, video telephony, electronic dictionary function, 2M camera and more.Suggested price is between 400,000(KRW) and 500,000(KRW).

The long awaited and perpetually rumored Treo 800w has made an appearance on a leaked slide from a possible Sprint smartphone roadmap.July is indicated as the month of the possible release for the device. The Treo 800w specifications on the roadmap, match the previously rumored info. It points out that the new Sprint addition will replace the 700w, it will be WM 6 based and will have an autonomous GPS integrated. If the image is authentic, there are going to be two versions of the WiFi capable Treo 800w – with and without camera. The second variant will be excellent for companies with camera restrictions. However, the genuineness of the image cannot be proved and no additional info is available at the moment.
