After some problems, Alltel this morning began shipping the Samsung Muse, a new mid-range music phone for the carrier’s lineup. The phone is a more advanced take on the Verizon Gleam and adds touch music controls to the outside of the clamshell, letting users quickly skip or pause tracks. A dedicated music button also allows the phone to hop from any menu to its music player software. A 2-megapixel camera and assisted GPS also round out its core features. The provider loads the phone with its custom Celltop widget-like interface as well as optional access to Internet streams of XM radio and mobile TV. Alltel sells the phone today for $90 with a two-year contract or $270 as a contract-free device.int

the samsung muse for alltel is without a doubt the most terrible phone i have had in my life. As soon as i got the first muse, i opened it up turned it on and it froze up as soon as the home screen was displayed. a day later it quit charging and an hour later it displayed a completely white screen and quit displaying the colors. I turned it in, complained to alltel and they made up a story telling me they knew there signal was terrible so they would put me under verizon towers. It was complete bull, so i got the warranty and got a free new muse. The same night I had 4 people telling me they called me when i never recieved the call due to a joke of a phone the muse is. I picked up a motorola phone that was a friends and to test my muse out, i called my phone off the motorola phone. I called 10 times and not once recieved one of the calls when the muse was displaying “full signal”. i sent my self a text to yet again test the phone, i didnt get the text till the next morning. I complained yet again, to alltel, to the manager, threatened to move to verizon and cost them losing thousands a year due to the kindergarten pre made cell phone alltel put out. With patience, i got a free 3rd muse phone. This phone is displaying even worse qualities than the first and second the instant i began using it. I am posting this up to let anyone who is thinking about buying this phone to not do it. you will regret it and while your at it you may as well pull out of alltel if you have it. I have had nothing but struggles and endless stress due to the phone i payed nearly 300$ for. Stay clear of the muse
