Philips have unveiled a cellphone that, as well as a standard li-ion power pack, has a slot for a AAA battery. BackuPower provides users with a remarkably simple solution for instantly recharging their phones: by inserting any type of standard sized AAA battery — alkaline or NiMH rechargeable — in the phone’s easily accessible cavity. The new Philips Xenium 9@9j has extended power provided by Techtium’s BackuPower, it will be available in April this year.
