Alltel has announced that it will begin to carry the HTC Touch on its online store and through Alltel retail stores beginning today.The phone can download games and other applications through Axcess, download themes and ringtones from Magmic, and sync photos with a PC via Sharpcast. Additionally, Handmark Pocket Express provides news and weather updates, while Digby can be used to buy items from the likes of FTD and Barnes & Noble. Voicemails can be converted to text through Voice2TXT.

The Touch is equipped with Windows Mobile 6.0, and is famous mainly for an interface that imitates the finger gestures used on Apple’s iPhone. It is also equipped with stereo Bluetooth, a microSD slot and a two-megapixel camera, as well as Microsoft’s Mobile Office suite.
The Touch is now available for $199.99 with new 2 year agreement, $100 mail-in rebate, and qualifying Smartphone data plan, with My Circle access being included at no additional charge on any qualifying voice plan.
