Motorola has begun shipping an unlocked version of the V9 RAZR2 to the United States. The unlocked version carries the full feature set of software provided from Motorola, unhindered or limited by carrier customizations. Motorola is touting this variant as adding in the full blogging and email capacities that the RAZR2 was intended to have.The unlocked Motorola V9 RAZR2 is being sold exclusively from Motorola’s online store, for $379.99.

Motorola has issued a firmware update for the Z6 ROKR on Alltel. To get the update, download an install Motorola Software Update on your Windows PC. It is not known, at this time, what the update changes or improves.Motorola Software update

Verizon today announced plans to develop and deploy its fourth generation mobile broadband network using LTE the technology developed within the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards organization.

Verizon and Vodafone have a coordinated trial plan for LTE that begins in 2008. Trial suppliers include Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia-Siemens, and Nortel. Discussions with device suppliers have expanded beyond traditional suppliers such as LG, Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson, as consumer electronics companies anticipate embedded wireless functionality in their future products.
