no announcement from AT&T yet — but we secured a Pantech Duo, live and in the flesh! First off, the device is really small. The keyboard is worlds better than the Helio Ocean, and while it might not be fair to compare it to the Ocean, it is more or less the same concept. 3G on here is such a pleasure, and while we’re not talking about Windows Mobile 6 Professional, Standard works just fine for this little handset. Battery life is a concern, especially with a 3G radio, but since we just got it we don’t have a real gage on battery performance. Voice quality and sound quality sounded crisp and clear as well. Final note: if you saw the Pantech Duo dummy display unit, you’ll notice the device slide out both ways simultaneously. Not the case on the real unit because of the spring mechanism.

Pictures have surfaced of what is reportedly leaked images of the Nokia N82. The official announcement of the N82 is expected November 2nd. The N82 looks like a phone that might take adjustment on the users part, as the keys are ultra-thin and probably awkward to navigate if you are not accustomed to the slim style. Also included with the newly leaked images is a new set of rumored specs, which seems to highlight the impressive camera phone on the device.

The rumored mobile phone venture from Skype and 3 UK, dubbed the 3Skypephone (makes sense doesn’t it?), is really starting to gain some momentum on the hype-train. Word on the street has it that the 2 megapixel-equipped, MP3-playing, Skype-enabled mobile phone will be hitting the market on October 29 on “pre-launch” status. November 2 is reported to see the 3Skypephone launch with three different color variants. The 3Skypephone will be offered with a “£12 ($25) Mix and Match 100 tariff which offers 100 minutes or texts or any mix of the two.”

We’ll just have to wait and see how this one pans out - looks like we won’t have to wait long.
