T-Mobile has finally made an official announcement about their next-gen Sidekicks - the Sidekick LX and the Sidekick Slide. Each of these new Sidekicks will target different segments of the mobile market, which T-Mobile is undoubtedly hoping will help to lure in new customers.
The Sidekick LX takes over as the replacement for the Sidekick 3, featuring a widescreen QVGA display, configurable mood lighting, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, and 128MB of microSD memory
The Sidekick Slide is the first Sidekick device to come from Motorola (the others are made by Danger). It’s also the first Sidekick NOT to have the trademark swivel display, and it is much slimmer than any of the previous Sidekick models. It has all of the same features as the standard Sidekick, as well as a 1.3 megapixel camera.
The Sidekick LX will hit store shelves October 24 in your choice of two colors: “midnight blue” and “espresso brown”. It will cost you $299 with a contract. The Sidekick Slide will be available on November 7 in black/deep purple for just $199 with a contract.
